The path to a shepherd’s heart

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on March 12, 2009 by Tim PalmquistFebruary 20, 2015

Last week, we witnessed a pastor bringing a young woman from his church to the abortion chamber to have her child killed.  Thanks to the Internet, I found the name, address, and phone number of the church, and I could even look at pictures of the outside of this small country church.

The church is located in an area I hadn’t visited for decades, a small farming community in Tulare County, about an hour’s drive from Bakersfield.  Nevertheless, a series of circumstances provided the opportunity for me to take the time to locate this pastor.  What would God want me to say when I had the opportunity to speak face to face with this man of God who had allowed himself to be used to facilitate the death of an innocent child?

Exhausted but encouraged

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on February 25, 2009 by Tim PalmquistMarch 28, 2009

It seems like our fall 40 Days for Life campaign just ended a few days ago and now we are beginning another 40 Days for Life campaign.  The task seems too daunting, but God’s grace is greater than our challenges.

After the fall 40 Days for Life campaign ended, we had to immediately refocus our attention on the Fiesta for Life, the major annual fundraiser for LifeSavers Ministries, which was only a month later.  This event always requires a huge effort to contact restaurants and businesses for donations, and we knew when we agreed to lead the fall 40 Days for Life campaign that we were sacrificing part of our necessary preparation time for the Fiesta for Life.

We survived the Fiesta for Life (barely) but we still didn’t have time to rest, as we needed to deal with crucial financial issues which had been set aside throughout the fall because of 40 Days for Life and Fiesta for Life.  Family and ministry problems also weighed heavily upon us.  The compounded impact of these circumstances brought me to the point of physical and emotional exhaustion.  As a result, I was sick throughout the month of December.  At some points I could hardly walk. God shows His love for us
on a special abortion day

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 28, 2008 by Tim PalmquistNovember 28, 2008

Balancing ministry and family is the most difficult challenge we face. Often it seems like the ministry is harming the family and the family is harming the ministry. On October 28, it seemed like ministry and family were having a head-on collision. But our new video shows how God blessed us on a day when Terri was “bummed.”

The shocking 1991 Thanksgiving news…
which thankfully never became a reality

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 26, 2008 by Tim PalmquistNovember 28, 2008

Our Jackie and Jordan videoOn Thanksgiving Day in 1991, we shared with our extended family the somewhat shocking news that we may be adopting a baby (although Terri had just given birth to our son Matthew). But instead God filled the heart of Jackie (the pregnant mother) with love for her son Jordan, and God used Jordan to bring her joy throughout the years which followed.

Pro-life politics after McCain-Palin

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 13, 2008 by Tim PalmquistNovember 14, 2008

Our nation has chosen a leader who is the most extreme abortion advocate imaginable. But our nation has not rejected the pro-life position. Sadly, the campaign of John McCain and Sarah Palin gave voters little opportunity to even consider the benefits of pro-life voting for the nation.

An unbelievable blessing from our oldest son Andrew

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 4, 2008 by Tim PalmquistNovember 4, 2008
Our son Andrew came to the 40 Days for Life vigil site to show us the van he bought for us

Our son Andrew came to the 40 Days for Life vigil site to show us the van he bought for us

About a week ago, I received a phone call from our son Andrew.  He got right to the point, saying “I bought you a van.”  On Friday, Andrew and his wife Shantel made the long drive down from Chico to deliver our new van.

We have known for years that Andrew had an amazing ability to find great deals on eBay, but this one surpasses our wildest imaginations! After spending so many years in our home, experiencing both the frustrations and the benefits of a large family, Andrew knew exactly what we needed, and this van has features that we wouldn’t have even thought of asking for.

Our old van (which has logged almost 280,000 miles) was beginning to show its age, and we had been finding it necessary to restrict our travel.  Continue reading →

Sarah says: vote for Sarah and Sarah’s law!

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 3, 2008 by Tim PalmquistNovember 3, 2008

Sarah Palmquist encourages you to vote Yes on Sarah's Law!

Our daughter Sarah reminds you to vote “yes” on Sarah’s Law (Proposition 4)… and while you’re at it, vote for Sarah Palin (and John McCain)! The future of our nation’s children hangs in the balance!

Will your vote impact your eternity?

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 3, 2008 by Tim PalmquistNovember 3, 2008

At last night’s closing celebration for the fall 2008 Bakersfield 40 Days for Life campaign I shared these thoughts about the eternal impact of our vote:

Jesus said that all authority in heaven and on earth comes from Him, and He also said that we will be accountable for how we have used what He has given us, and that those who make good use of what He has given will be rewarded.

Our vote is a form of authority. It may be a small amount of authority, but we are personally accountable to God to use that authority in a way which glorifies Jesus. In reality, our vote probably matters more to God than it does to the nation. Continue reading →

For such a time as this!

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 3, 2008 by Tim PalmquistSeptember 1, 2012

I just received this from our friend and intercessor Marti McCraw.

…Barack Obama speaks to the nation who has the power to make him President. In essence, regarding abortion, he is saying, “There is an odd set of people in our nation who don’t fit in… elect me for president and I will give orders to have them destroyed.”

Barack Obama has declared that the first thing he will do when elected is… remove every abortion restriction that has been passed since Roe V. Wade.

Will you join the Esther’s and Mordecai’s of this land to fast and pray for the lives of these innocent children? Who knows? Maybe you were made queen (part of a voting democracy) for just such a time as this.

Read Marti’s full post calling for prayer and fasting…

Five hundred babies!

Tim & Terri Palmquist's blog Posted on November 1, 2008 by Tim PalmquistSeptember 1, 2012

The CDC estimated that 500 babies are born alive after an abortion every year! The suffering of these babies (and their mothers) has been ignored for far too long.

The “Confessions of a Catholic Mom” blog linked to our “laundromat” post and included this video which provides a glimpse into this atrocity — and a clear picture of Barack Obama’s calloused advocacy of such brutality. Take five minutes to watch this video, and tell your friends to do the same. It’s still not too late for our nation if we act now!
