Many years ago, we chose the name of this domain, glorifyJesus.com, (which contains various aspects of our work and ministries) to intentionally focus on the central point of effective ministry: glorifying the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 But sometimes the meaning of the word “glorify” gets a bit muddied.<\/p>\n
From my study of the Bible, I believe that the concept of “glorifying Jesus” is quite simple. <\/p>\n
Picture yourself in a theater watching a play or some other live event.\u00a0 To help you know where to focus your attention, a spotlight is directed toward one of the people on stage.<\/p>\n
When we “glorify Jesus,” we put Him in the spotlight, to focus attention on Him.\u00a0 As I read the Bible, I see the concept of “glory” and “glorify” often associated with a bright light.\u00a0 I hope in the future days to find time to explain this topic more fully here from the pages of the Scriptures, but as we begin this new blog I thought that this was an important foundational topic to set forward, even though I don’t have time to go into detail on it right now.<\/p>\n
When we truly understand what it means to “glorify Jesus,” we’ll see that this concept impacts every aspect of our life and ministry.\u00a0 That’s why when I write about a baby being saved from abortion, I try not to say, “Jane saved a baby today;” instead, I say “God used Jane to save a baby today.”\u00a0 The focus is on Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0 He is the one doing the work.\u00a0 We are simply tools in His hands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
