I was at the laundromat this morning and met a couple who had come in to wash their comforter.\u00a0 They were amazed at how much laundry I was doing.\u00a0 As we talked, they found out how many kids we have and that we are in the pro-life ministry.\u00a0 I found out that they are against abortion and they go to a local Catholic church which has been supportive of LifeSavers Ministries and 40 Days for Life.\u00a0 The wife has also been involved in praying outside the abortion center.<\/p>\n

I said “well, then, you know not to vote for Obama, right?”<\/p>\n

They looked dumbfounded when I said that.\u00a0 It was obvious that they were Obama supporters.<\/p>\n

“Well,” I responded after a long silence, “you do know he is pro-abortion, don’t you?”<\/p>\n

“I’ve never heard that,” she shot back.<\/p>\n

I went on to explain how he supports partial birth abortion and that he has consistently voted against efforts to save babies who survive abortions.<\/p>\n

Her husband chimed in by saying “you don’t have a right to judge other people.\u00a0 I voted NO on Proposition 8, because each one of us will stand before our Maker, and we’re not responsible for what other people do.”\u00a0 He went on to say that his priest had made a comment during Mass recently “God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,” and that this comment offended a lot of people.<\/p>\n

I said “you should probably talk to your priest about this.”<\/p>\n

He said “I’ve gone around and around with him.”<\/p>\n

His wife said “the commercials are telling lies about Proposition 8, saying that homosexuality will be taught in the schools.\u00a0\u00a0 But I have talked to teachers and they say that they’re not teaching that in the schools.”<\/p>\n

I said, “well, we’re a conservative city, but in other cities in California, they are teaching ‘I have two mommies,’ and if this law is passed, they will.”<\/p>\n

I was at a loss for words after that.\u00a0 I just continued doing my laundry.\u00a0 When their comforter was done, he said “you have a good day.”
\nI replied “I just want you to remember my face, because if Obama becomes president, what I do will probably be made illegal and I will probably end up in jail.”<\/p>\n
